I’m Mike, a father, body builder, runner, and freelance web developer based in Mandaluyong City, Philippines.

I am a self taught web developer who has been practicing since 1999 and has been developing professionally since 2004. I specialize in scripting; primarily using in PHP, mySQL, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets and other open source technologies. I also design and layout websites and print media on the side. I do not have formal training in any of the languages and/or technologies I use in my work, I did not attend a formal college. Instead I opted to take a crash course in computing for a year fresh out of high school then worked in the private sector there-after. I may lack the proper training most College graduates, certificate holders, or “specialist” have; but I do have the drive, and perseverance to grind and out-work most of them.

My philosophy in work as well in life is to simply gravitate towards things that interest me. Which is why I opted work right out of high school and eventually work for myself. I want to have the freedom to choose which opportunities interest me and work for people I respect and want to work with. Being a freelancer has given me the opportunity not only to work at my won terms but to be able to provide for my family while being playing an active role in my daughters developing years. It has also allowed me to continue working despite my eye condition (Retinitis Pigmentosa).

I have a simple life style. If I am not working, which I do for the most part of my day; you can either find me at the gym or outside working out, in front of the TV watching my favorite Anime and/or J-Dorama re-runs, or touring the Philippines with my family. I do almost everything with them, especially my daughter. She is my biggest inspiration and the driving force in my life;  And is a constant reminder to live life to the fullest. She is and always will be my greatest achievement.
